My name is Gabrielle Eschinger and I have been a dancer since I was four years old. As I have grown older, I've gained a multitude of skills that I will be able to apply to my life as I step into adulthood. Because of my love of dance, I decided to create this Girl Scout Gold Award Project. My hope is that one day all children will have an equal opportunity to have the chance to learn ballet. It is no secret that this sport is extremely costly; from clothing, to pointe shoes, to classes, to shows, the cost can start to add up. I believe that everyone, especially children, get the opportunity to explore as many interests as possible In addition, I am using my passion for coding and computer science by coding this website.
Much research has been done to show that dancing improves not only a person’s physical health but their mental
health as well. It is especially important for kids to learn about their bodies and minds at a young age
so they can be confident in their appearance and their intelligence.
Dance requires one to be able to memorize
the steps they are given, the position they’re supposed to be in, and any corrections a teacher may give them.
This means that young dancers must strengthen their intelligence in order to succeed as a dancer.
The sport
can also enhance children’s socialization skills. In group dances, the dancers must work together in order
to perform, this allows for kids to practice communicating effectively with their peers and their teacher.
I have reaped the benefits of the dance community for pretty much my entire life, so I know firsthand how much
one can gain from being a dancer. Ballet has taught me to be dedicated, disciplined, and push myself to my
limits. I have my many wonderful teachers to thank for making me the person I am today.
